Dinesh Karthik is an Indian professional cricket player and the present vice-captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He also plays as a captain for the Tamil Nadu Cricket Team. In 2004, he played his debut for the Indian National Cricket team. Generally,he plays as a wicket-keeper batsman. He is a wonderful batsman cum wicket-keeper.

He made his maiden Test century against Bangladesh and was India’s leading scorer in their Test tour of England,[1] helping India win their first series in England in 21 years. After a drop in form in September 2007, Karthik was dropped from the Test team. He has made only sporadic international appearances since then, although he continues to score well domestically. He holds the record for the highest number of catches taken as a wicketkeeper in the Indian Premier League, surpassing the previous record set by MS Dhoni.[2]
