India’s national cricket team (men’s), also popular as Team India and Men in Blue, is directed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and India is a Full Member of the ICC with Test, ODI(one day international) and Twenty20 International. In the 18th century, British sailors introduced Cricket to India and in 1792 the first cricket club was created in India. Indian cricket team had not played its first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord’s and becoming the 6th team to be recognized test cricket status.
As of July 4, 2021, India has become second-ranked in Tests, 4th in ODIs, and 2nd in T20Is by the ICC. The current captain of the team is Virat Kohli across all formats, while Ravi Shastri is the head coach.
